Glenwood Springs High School Mock Trial

Glenwood Springs High School Mock Trial was started back in 1993 by Judge Vic Zerbi. Along with Wes Burke and Charlie Willman, Judge Zerbi built a nationally competitive high school mock trial program in Glenwood Springs. Over the years the three coaches collectively led the program to seven State Championships and six finishes in the top ten in the nation, including second, third, seventh, and eighth. The program is now led by coaches, Zachary Parsons, a local attorney, and Isabel Carlson, the mock trial class teacher. Both Zac and Isabel were four year mock trial students and each were on one of Glenwood's State Championship teams.

In addition to the head coaches, the program has been successful because of the help from other community volunteers, including attorneys, judges, fine arts experts, communications experts, and mock trial experts, among many others. All the Glenwood Coaches volunteer their time and are not paid to coach. The community support doesn't stop there; the team is granted access to courtrooms for practice, and given other resources that give them an edge.

GSHS Mock Trial also relies on friend and community support to fund the program. Our program is completely funded by grants and donations. The generosity and enthusiasm of our community allows us to travel for competitions without putting great financial strain on our students and their families.

If you have been one of our donors over the years, thank you! You make this wonderful program possible!
